An unreliable narration regarding cleanliness

Is this Hadith reliable?

ما طابت رائحة عبد قط إلا قل همه ولا نقيت ثياب عبد إلا قل همه

This narration appears in Musnadul Firdaws on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu). However, the Muhaddithun have declared it unreliable.

(Musnadul Firdaws, Hadith: 6312. Refer: Kitabul Majruhin Minal Muhaddithin, vol. 1 pg. 362, Dhaylul La-Alil Masnu’ah, vol. 2 pg. 570, Hadith: 687 and Tanzihush Shari’ah, vol. 2 pg. 277)

Although this particular Hadith is not suitable to quote, Islam places great emphasis on cleanliness and taharah as understood from other authentic narrations.

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“When a person’s scent is pleasant, his worries will be less and when a person’s clothing is pure and clean, his distress/worries will also be reduced.”

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
