حافظوا على أبنائكم في الصلاة، ثم تعودوا/وعوّدوهم الخير؛ فإنما الخير بالعادة

Answer

This narration is recorded in Al Mu’jamul Kabir and As Sunanul Kubra of Imam Bayhaqi (rahimahullah) as the statement of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said: “Be mindful of your children’s Salah and ensure that they are accustomed to carrying out good [deeds] for good deeds [only become routine] when carried out habitually.”

أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الله الحافظ، أنبأ أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب الشيباني، ثنا أبو أحمد محمد بن عبد الوهاب، أنبأ جعفر بن عون، أنبأ أبو العميس، عن القاسم قال: قال عبد الله: «حافظوا ‌على ‌أبنائكم ‌في ‌الصلاة، ثم تعودوا الخير، فإنما الخير بالعادة».
