Is the following authentic?

Rasulullah ( sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“When Allah Ta’ala desires to punish a people(for their sins) he causes their children to die in abundance and makes their woman barren, punishment then befalls them and there remains no one under the mercy of Allah Ta’ala”

Answer

Imam Shirazi (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration in Kitabul Alqab. However ‘Allamah Munawi (rahimahullah) has quoted Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) who after quoting a similar Hadith declared it as having no basis. The Hadith in question should not be quoted.
