Question
Can you kindly teach me regarding this supplication. I was told to make this supplication, Allahumma ad’khilni jannatul firdous al’ala bi’ghairi hisab wa la adhaab
The above phrase makes sense on its own but I want further guidance on it.
1- Is there anything wrong to ask Allah Ta’ala to enter us into Al-Firdaws by adding words… bi’ghairi hisab wa la adhaab?
2- For the du’a mentioned above, can you tell me is it a masnun du’a? If so, are these the exact words? If these are not the exact words, please teach me the masnun words which include all of the following inshaAllah… A- Enter us into Jannatul Firdaws B- at the same time also ask us to be saved from hisab and/or punishment C- do we need to utter those phrases [with conviction] with a certain frequency like three times, seven times etc?
I learn’t the above du’a but just wanted to make sure if it has masnun words, then I need to learn the masnun version which asks for Al-Firdaws and also includes in it a du’a of being saved from hisab and adhab.
Kindly provide the arabic, transliteration and reference for the du’a you will share inshaAllah. Jazakumullahu khayran.
Answer
1. No, there is nothing wrong with that. Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) did encourage us to ask for Al-Firdaws. He also explained that some people will enter without hisab (accountability).
2. I haven’t seen such a du’a in the Hadith, although one may still recite it as many times as one may wish, without claiming these to be the exact words of Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam).
Lastly, the words you have provided have a few mistakes which I have underlined in the question. You should replace it with the following:
Allahumma ad’khilni jannatal firdous al a’la bi’ghairi hisab wa la ‘adhaab
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
