Nabi’s (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) du’a for the person who gave him milk to drink

Question

What is the status of this narration?

عن عمرو بن الحمق الخزاعي أنه سقى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لبنا، فقال: اللهم أمتعه بشبابه فمرت عليه ثمانون سنة لم ير شعرة بيضاء

Answer

Imams Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, Ibnus Sunni, and Tabarani (rahimahumullah) have recorded this narration.

Sayyiduna ‘Amr ibnul Hamiq Al Khuza’i (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that he once he gave Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) some milk to drink. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “O Allah! Allow him to enjoy his youth.” The narrator states, “[He reached the age of 80] and had no white hair.”

This particular chain is extremely weak. Hafiz ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has also expressed reservation with regard to the authenticity (هذا لا يصح واسحاق بن أبي فروة واهي الحديث)
