Question
What is the authenticity of this narration?
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“The one who would invite people towards anything [or deed, good or bad] in the world, on the day of Qiyamah he will be attached/joined to his claim/slogan [to which he invited]. Even if a man invited only one other person. [then too he will be held to the slogan to which he invited]”
Answer
Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu). Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded the Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu).
Imam Tirmidhi has declared the chain weak.
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 208, Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3228, Zawaid Sunan Ibn Majah, of ‘Allamah Busiri, Hadith: 54)
The Hadith is suitable to quote despite its weakness.
