Question

Is the following Hadith recorded in Musnad Ahmad sound?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“The lowest ranked person in Jannah will have seven stories. He will be on sixth story below the seventh. He will have three hundred (300) servants who will bring 300 plates of food in the morning and evening. -The narrator says, ‘I think he said the plates will be of gold’- Each plate will be a unique colour and just as the first plate will be delicious, so too will the last plate be delicious.”

 

Answer

Imam Ahmad (rahimahullah) has recorded this as part of a longer Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 2 pg. 537)

 

‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) states, ‘The narrators are reliable despite there being weakness in some of them.’ (رجاله ثقات على ضعف في بعضهم)

 

The narration is suitable to quote.
