Question

How sound is the Hadith in Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah, wherein Sa’id ibn Jubayr (rahimahullah) said that the last person in Jannah will have one thousand (1000) palaces. Is this narration authentic?

Answer

This narration is recorded in Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah as the statement of the Tabi’i; Sa’id ibn Jubayr (rahimahullah).

The gist of the narration is as follows:

Sa’id ibn Jubayr (rahimahullah) said:

“The lowest ranked inhabitant of Jannah will have 1000 palaces with 70 000 servants. Each servant will have something unique in their hands. If the entire world had to partake from there, it would suffice them.”

(Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 35114)

‘Allamah Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah has declared one of the narrators weak.

(Footnotes on Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 35114)

The narration is suitable to quote as the statement of Sa’id ibn Jubayr (rahimahullah).

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
