Question

I am looking for the Arabic text and the complete Hadith regarding ‘the meadows of Jannah in this world’ which is quoted for the virtue of dhikr in Tablighi bayans.

 

Answer

The Hadith in question is as recorded by Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“When you pass by the meadows of Jannah indulge freely in them!” The Sahabah asked: “O Messenger of Allah! What are the meadows of Jannah?” He replied: “The circles/gatherings of dhikr [gatherings where Allah Ta’ala is remembered].”

عن أنس بن مالك (رضي الله عنه) أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: إذا مررتم برياض الجنة فارتعوا قالوا: وما رياض الجنة؟ قال: حلق الذكر
