There is no perfect wudu without taking the name of Allah

Is this Hadith regarding saying Bismillah before wudu authentic?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “There is no [perfect] wudu for the one who does not recite the Name of Allah.”

This Hadith has been recorded in many Hadith collections on the authority of many Sahabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum). Among them:

  1. Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 25
  2. Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 102 and 103
  3. Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 397, 398, 399 and 400

‘Allamah Mundhiri (rahimahullah) has stated that these chain gain collective strength. ‘Allamah ibn Kathir (rahimahullah) has mentions that this Hadith has been reported through authentic chains from a host of Sahabah (من طرق  جيدة عن جماعة من الصحابة)

(Targhib, vol. 1 pg. 164 and Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Surah Maidah, Verse: 6, vol. 3 pg. 335)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
