I am searching for a reference for this incident:
‘Urwah ibn al-Zubayr narrated, “I saw ‘Umar ibnul Khattab (radiyallahu ‘anhu) carrying a water skin on his back. I said, “O Amirul Mu-minin, this is not befitting for you.” He replied, “When the delegation came to me, obedient and attentive, a sense of pride arose within me. I wished to humble myself, so I took the water skin and emptied it into the vessel of a woman from the Ansar.”

Imam ‘Abdul Karim ibn Hawazin Al Qushayri (rahimahullah) [demise: 465 A.H.] has cited this incident.
‘Urwah ibn Zubayr (rahimahullah) related: “I saw ‘Umar ibn Khattab (radiyallahu ‘anhu) carrying a water skin on his shoulders. I remarked, “O leader of the Believers, this does not suit you.” He replied, “Upon seeing delegations approach me, submissive and attentive, a feeling of pride surfaced within me. I desired to suppress it. He then proceeded to the dwelling of an Ansari woman and poured the water into her vessels.”

Imam Abu Bakr Ad Dinawri (rahimahullah) [demise: 333 A.H.] has also recorded similar incidents.

(٣٨٤) – وقال عروة بن الزبير رأيت عمر بن الخطاب رضى الله عنه وعلى عاتقه قربة ماء فقلت يا أمير المؤمنين لا ينبغي لك هذا فقال: لما أتاني الوفود سامعين مطيعين دخلت نفسي نخوة فأحببت أن أكسرها ومضي بالقربة إلى حجرة امرأة من الأنصار فأفرغها في إنائها.
المجالسة وجواهر العلم:
(٤١٧) – حدثنا أحمد بن يوسف، نا عبيد الله بن محمد بن حفص، نا حماد بن سلمة، نا عبيد الله بن عمر: أن عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه حمل قربة على عنقه، فقال له أصحابه: يا أمير المؤمنين! ما حملك على هذا؟ قال: إن نفسي أعجبتني؛ فأردت أن أذلها.
(٢٤١٦) – حدثنا أحمد بن يوسف، نا عبيد الله بن محمد بن حفص، نا حماد بن سلمة، نا عبيد الله بن عمر: أن عمر بن الخطاب كان جالسا ذات يوم، فمرت به جارية تحمل قربة، فقام، فأخذ منها القربة وحملها على عنقه حتى وداها ثم رجع، فقال له أصحابه: يرحمك الله يا أمير المؤمنين! ما حملك على هذا؟ قال: إن نفسي أعجبتني؛ فأردت أن أذلها.
