Please provide the reference for this narration:

ما ازداد عبد علما فازداد في الدنيا رغبة إلا ازداد من الله بعدا

Answer

Imam Darimi (rahimahullah) has recorded this as the statement of Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah (rahimahullah) [Demise: 198 A.H.]

Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah (rahimahullah) said: “When a person grows in knowledge but becomes more enticed by worldly pursuits, they drift further away from Allah.”

(Sunan Darimi: 400)
