Question
What is the status of this narration?
من شهد الصلوات الخمس أربعين ليلة في جماعة، يدرك التكبيرة الأولى وجبت له الجنة
Answer
Imam ‘Abdur Razzaq (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration as the statement of the senior Tabi’i; Abul ‘Aliyah (rahimahullah).
Abul ‘Aliyah; Rufay’ ibn Mihran (rahimahullah) said: “Whoever performs the five Salahs in congregation for forty nights attaining the initial takbir, Jannah becomes compulsory for him.”
(Musannaf ‘Abdur Razzaq, Hadith: 2018)
The narrators are all reliable.
Note: The Hadith must be quoted as reported i.e., As the statement of Abul ‘Aliyah (rahimahullah). However, it should be borne in mind that he could not have made this statement by applying his own logic.
