Caution against becoming angry when reminded to fear Allah

Are these words found in a Hadith?

كفى بالمرء إثما إذا قيل له اتق الله غضب

I have not come across this as a Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this as the statement of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Al Mu’jamul Kabir: 8588)

‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the narrators reliable (rijalus sahih).

(Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 7 pg. 271)

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said: “It is sufficient to regard a person sinful that he becomes angry when it is said to him, ‘Fear Allah!”

This is an important caution that should be heeded, when Allah’s name is taken in a discussion or conversation.
