Authenticity of the Hadith regarding counting dhikr on the fingers


Please verify the authenticity of this Hadith.

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Hold fast onto making tasbih [saying Subhanallah], tahlil [saying La ilaha illallah] and glorifying Allah, and count them on your fingers for they [your fingers] will be questioned and asked to speak.”



Imam Ibn Hibban (rahimahullah) has declared this Hadith authentic.

‘Allamah Nawawi (rahimahullah) has also declared one chain sound (hasan). Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith sound (hasan).
