Sayyiduna ‘Abdur Rahman ibn Samurah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that once Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) came out to us and said:
“Last night I saw a marvelous dream. I saw a man from my Ummah and the Angel of Death approached him to take his soul, but the man’s obedience to his parents came and kept the Angel at bay.’ ‘Thereafter I saw a man from my Ummah subjected to the torment of the grave but then his ablution came and rescued him from it.’ ‘Then I saw a man from my Ummah surrounded by devils, then his remembrance of Allah came to him and delivered him from their midst.’ ‘Then I saw a man from my Ummah who was surrounded by the Angels of torment, but his Salah came to him and rescued him from their hands.’

A narration mentions that a person who passes away whilst on their way for Hajj or Umrah will receive the reward of performing Hajj / Umrah till the day of Qiyamah. Does this Hadith refer to a person who passes away whilst in Ihram only on the way to Makkah Mukarramah or it includes for instance a person before Hajj passes away in Madinah Munawwarah (as he went to Madinah Munawwarah before coming to Makkah Mukarramah for Hajj as is the case generally) or if a person passes away after arriving in Makkah Mukarramah completing the Umrah and is now out of Ihram waiting for the 8th of Zul Hijjah as well? (as the tragedy that occurred in the Haram prior to the days of Hajj this year)
