Question
My question is about the ahadith that supposedly speak of Muhammad al Faatih. The Ashaa’irah and Maturidiyyah (Ahl ul Sunnah) use this Hadith to show that contrary to the claim of the Salafiyyah, this Hadith proves that the Maturidi Aqeedah is sound because the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wal Sallam) said the leader of the army was blessed and so was its army. My question is, is there a consensus that this Hadith refers to Muhammad al Faatih and if not, who are the ulama that have said that this Hadith is in reference to Muhammad al Faatih?
Here is the Hadith in question:
Verily you shall conquer Constantinople. What a wonderful leader will her leader be, and what a wonderful army will that army be!”
(Musnad Ahmad)
